For more than thirty years, Washington, DC born Joseph Craig English has hand-painted, exhibited, and sold his vibrantly colored serigraphs throughout the country.

English takes pride in personally printing of his own work, limiting his runs to small editions -- seldom exceeding 125 original prints. His serigraphs begin life with photographs he takes of everyday events and scenes: small town businesses, suburban neighborhoods, sporting events, and the like. Each stencil has been carefully silk-screened onto 100% rag paper, and is personally inspected and signed by the artist before being released for publication or sale.

Craig English: A Capitol Afternoon
A Capitol Afternoon

According to the artist: It's a beautiful summer late afternoon and I am walking down the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue, oblivious to the cars zooming by me. The fading sunlight is bathing the Capitol in a wonderful warm glow. I snap the perfect picture and capture another dauntless jay walker crossing against the signal. Craig English: Downtown Deli
Downtown Deli

According to the artist: After the show, we walked around Broadway, amazed at all the shops and restaurants that were open late or never closed at all. At 11 o'clock pm, this little deli was just receiving cartons of Pepsi to stock their coolers. I was drawn by the combination of neon, brightly colored flowers and fresh fruit. Framed original serigraph from 2003. Dimensions: 16 in. x 21 in. #98 of a limited edition of 125.    0098

Georgetown Blue Taxis

According to the artist: I'm looking down Wisconsin Avenue from the corner of N Street in Washington, D.C. The gold dome on the left is the once venerable Riggs Bank. According to the artist: It's a beautiful day in Richmond\'s historic fan district and I'm out with my camera enjoying the lovely fall weather. Here on Grove Avenue the trees form a canopy that filters the light into dancing rays that illuminate the leaves like stained glass. Framed original serigraph from 2002.
