This month, the Museum Shop features
Megan is a lover of nature, life, art and the power to heal. Her affinity for nature stems from her Chesapeake Bay roots, a beautiful part of the world where Megan developed a deep passion for Mother Nature's own artistic display of light, balance and texture. This passion is reflected in her unique process of weaving that incorporates found items directly into the tapestries themselves. MEET THE ARTIST! The Museum Shop is proud to welcome Megan for a show of her work Saturday, May 4th, from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Please drop by the gallery to meet this unique talent. . . . . . . . . . .

Shown are: Cambridge Farms (above left). This 1988 watercolor depicts the Culler Farmhouse as it once stood at the intersection of Holter Road and Jefferson Pike in Jefferson. Industrial Center East (above right). This 1990 watercolor depicts the Clark Farmhouse before it was replaced by the Donald B. Rice building off Reichs Ford Road. Abington Farms (below). This 1988 watercolor depicts the Farmhouse of Irving Ab, previously located off Shookstown Road west of Bowers Road.

TIP OF THE MONTH
The Shape of the Moulding Profile can Relate to the Art
The rounded shape of the frame moulding on the left relates to the round ladybug, as well as all the spots on the bug. The three square profiles stacked together to frame the art on the right tie to the pre- dominantly square shapes the artist used. Thanks to Larson-Juhl for the tip. ........ Our Services

The National Gallery of Art presents, through May 19th, 2013: Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Art and Design, 1848–1900. This survey of the art of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood features some 130 paintings, sculptures, works on paper, and decorative art objects that reflect the group's rejection of tradition and acceptance of precision and innovations that created a stir in mid-1800s Britain. . . . . . . . . . .
The Freer Gallery of Art presents, through September 8th, 2013: Whistler's Neighborhood: Impressions of a Changing London. The Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens presents, through June 8th, 2013: Pagaent of the Tsars: The Romanov Coronation Albums.
