Painting Restoration & Preservation
Most people are surprised that even terribly damaged oils can be restored. Most oil paintings simply need devarnishing or cleaning and sealing to look beautiful again. Richard Kornemann, resident conservator at (and owner of) the Museum Shop, Ltd., has had over 35 years of experience in restoring and repairing oil paintings, ranging in difficulty from simple cleanings to extreme measures such as paint transfer. He has been trusted with the restoration of works by Picasso, Whistler, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Goya, among many others.

Mr. Kornemann is happy to examine your art at no charge, by appointment, at the Museum Shop, Ltd. The vast majority of his restoration work is on pieces with largely sentimental value, owned by people who wish to pass a beloved document or photograph on to their children or grandchildren.
